About six years ago my daughter, Sarma, started making her own items - plush creatures we trademarked as Cute Uglies(TM).
Cute Uglies(TM) are made from faux fur or fleece fabrics and can have arms, legs, ears, noses, tails or maybe none of these. The only thing that they all have in common is the big eyes. These are safety eyes, secured by a ringed shank and washer system that makes these ideal for young children. Now, as we all know, children can come in all genders and ages. We've had more than one middle-aged man buy Cute Uglies(TM) for himself just because they make him laugh.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. At first Sarma gave the Cute Uglies(TM) away to her friends as gifts but soon her friends were encouraging her to sell them.
Since Sarma has been helping me with shows for many years it was a natural to add her items to our product offering. Needless to say, her Cute Uglies(TM) have sold very well.
